This one may seem obvious, but it’s really important to make sure you take a few minutes to read through your answers at the end of your exam, to make sure you haven’t made any silly mistakes.
Spelling, punctuation, and grammar are important in your writing. When it comes to high-stakes exams like the IELTS, FCE or CAE, you will be marked on your accuracy in spelling and punctuation. If you don’t spend a few minutes proofreading, you may not be happy with the score you receive. In our everyday lives, spelling and grammar are important too. Imagine sending a business email that has a spelling mistake or grammar mistake in every line!

When you practice writing for whatever purpose (exams, business, or just general communication), make sure to budget for at least one or two minutes to check for any mistakes or awkwardness in your writing. Spending a little time making sure your writing sounds good and is mistake-free will help show off your amazing English skills!
