Phrasal Verb and Idiom Friday!

Sometimes things don’t work out how we expected them to. Maybe you bought a lemon, and now you have a massive repair bill on your hands.

Maybe you and a good friend got into a heated argument and now you’re not sure how to make it up to them.

Honesty is always the best policy when trying to make amends. Sometimes a cup of tea and a good night’s sleep is all you need to feel better!

  • work out: the ending result/ what happens when everything is finished
  • buy a lemon- buy something that’s worthless/broken/no good. Usually used when talking about a used car
  • to have something on your (their/our/my/his/her) hands: to own something, to find that you now have to solve a problem or deal with something
  • heated argument: a very passionate discussion where you get upset
  • to make it up to someone: to repair the problem; to give/do/say something to someone in apology.
  • make amends: to apologize
